Recently Facebook introduced a new “feature” called Instant Personalization that automatically opts you in to sharing your personal information (and your friend’s personal information) with various websites automatically when you visit them. Of course Facebook sells this as a feature to improve your online experience, but personally I think it is a gross invasion of your privacy (especially since Instant Personalization is automatically turned on – it would be different if you could decide that you wanted to share your information and it didn’t automatically share your friends information too). Fortunately you can opt-out of instant personalization, but Facebook does not make it easy (yesterday the Electronic Frontier Foundation published a great video showing you how to correctly opt-out, but this morning Facebook changed their site to make it even harder to opt-out completely). Currently, to completely opt-out of Instant Personalization you need to take the following steps: Facebook, how to, Instant Personalization, opt-out, Privacy |

Three weeks ago I posted video footage of a strange object that appeared in the skies over Maryland. Yesterday, the witness provided more information about the sighting that seemingly rules out one possible explanation for the unexplained light in the sky. Another commenter had posited that the light may be a satellite that was reflecting the sun as it crossed the, but the new information seems to rule that out. According to the witness, who identified himself as Carlos, the first time he saw the object it was so bright that it caught his attention from the corner of his eye and then very quickly sped across the sky. The second time it appeared, he said it seemed to lazily float across the sky only to enter a cloud bank and not emerge. Based on the different speeds the object was seen traveling at and it’s apparent ability to hover (or at least change direction), the chance that what ever Carlos filmed was a satellite seems slim. While eliminating one possible explanation is helpful, this new information only seems to further deepen the mystery surrounding the sighting. Monday night a businessman from Highton, Australia captured this amazing footage of unexplained lights flying in an erratic pattern over Corio Bay from his balcony. According to the witness, Anthony Raduka, the lights were moving far to fast to be aircraft. “We have watched fighter jets from our deck when the airshow is on and these lights were going ten times quicker”, he said. In addition to their erratic flight patterns, the lights also changed colors over the 20 minutes Raduka filmed the display. What do you think was flying over the Australian coast Monday night? Let us know what you think in the comments. UFO sighting over Geelong [via UFO Evolution] 2010, April, Australia, Corio Bay, Geelong, Highton, lights, sighting, UFO, Victoria, video, witness |
