About Our UFO Activity Monitor
Our UFO Activity Monitor is a simple representation of UFO activity for the past month based on UFO reports made to various organizations*. The meter displays activity as one of four levels (low, average, high, and contact):

LOW: UFO sightings report levels are at least one order of magnitude below average. |

AVERAGE: UFO sighing report levels are within +/- one order of magnitude of the average monthly level of UFO reports for the past decade. |
|
HIGH: UFO sightings report levels are one or more orders of magnitude above the 10 year average. |
| Contact: UFOs are publically landing and being reported on in the mass media. |
The current UFO activity level is:
*While the UFO report databases we use are monitored to prevent obviously false reports from entering the data pool, the veracity of every report is not verified (or even necessarily verifiable). Because of this the accuracy of the UFO Activity Monitor cannot be guaranteed. However, because of the dedicated efforts of those moderating the databases we use, we believe the impact of false reports on the Monitor is negligible.
