Possible Mothman Sighting In Chicago, Illinois [September 30, 2011]

[UPDATED] It looks as if a Mothman may have paid a visit to the Windy City. According to witness reports a large bat-like creature with glowing red eyes was spotted in the University Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois on Friday, September 30th 2011. Witnesses spotted the creature, which they estimated to be 6 to 7 feet tall, perched on a basketball hoop in Miller Park. When it took off, the heard an audible “whoosh” as it beat its wings. Nearby two female witnesses were moved to hysterics when they spotted a pair of glowing red eyes peering in the window. Researchers have identified multiple witness and are currently investigating the incident.

If the creature that was spotted in Chicago was a Mothman, could there be a tragedy in the city’s future? If we are to believe the historic sightings of the Mothman, it very well may be. After the 1966 and 1967 sightings in Point Pleasant, West Virginia the Silver Bridge, which connected the town to Kanauga, Ohio over the Ohio river collapsed during rush hour killing 46. There are also reports of a Mothman type creature being spotted around the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant shortly before the plants catastrophic failure in 1986. If the Mothman is indeed an omen of catastrophe, what does the future hold for Chicago?

UPDATE: I can’t believe that I failed to make the connection when I was writing the post, but Friday Oct 8th there was a major freight train derailment 100 miles outside of Chicago. The derailment set off a series of massive explosions that caused the evacuation of the 800 residents of the small town of Tiskilwa, Illinois. Amazingly, no one was hurt in the accident. Could the Mothman sighting be linked to this accident, or is something else in store for Chicago?

Could Long Hair Be The Key To Enhanced Perception?

Could having long hair be linked to having increased perception? According to one anecdote uncovered by Scott McMan on Ghost Theory it may very well be, at least that is supposedly what the US Army thought during Viet Nam.

The story goes that faced with fighting in inhospitable terrain that was familiar to their foe, the US Army turned to Native American trackers to help find the enemy. Undercover recruitment teams were sent to reservations across the country to find the best trackers available, and they did. There was only one problem. Once enlisted, the trackers seemed to lose their ability to track. When questioned about their failure to perform, the recruits replied that their intuition was no longer reliable after receiving their military hair cuts. With no other possible explanation for why expert trackers suddenly were useless, the Army performed a series of tests. Trackers were separated into pairs and one member of the team received a short military cut, while the other retained their long hair. Consistently the tracker with short hair failed to perform while the other excelled at every test. Based on the results of this testing, the Army required all Native trackers to have long hair. While I can’t say if this is true or not, it does make you think.

Interestingly enough, according to Wikipedia, throughout history short hair has been used to control. In fact, prior to World War One longer hair and beards were far more common among western men. During the war (and the Second World War) much of the male population was indoctrinated the vary disciplined and controlled military life. With this subservience came shorter hair. These global conflicts spawned today’s military industrial complex which many claim controls the world. One could postulate that there is a vested interest in keeping the population’s hair shorter to make it easier to control. Even women’s hair styles seem to be growing shorter on average. If longer hair is linked to enhanced perception then it would make sense that it would be easier to control a group by limiting their awareness (think blinders on horses).

Unexplained Light Appears Over Maryland – UPDATED [UFO]

UPDATED While out filming contrails/chemtrails Youtube user Breakz23 captured this footage of a strange light that he spotted in the sky over Maryland. According to the video description the light appeared a total of three times (though the he was unable to capture the first two appearances). Despite being filmed on April 1st, this video appears to be a legitimate sighting of… something. According to the witness, this light is not a plane or a helicopter and appeared much brighter than any other object in the sky. From the video, it appears to either be hovering away slowly or at a very high altitude (which given its apparent size in the video would make it enormous). What do you think this strange light that appeared over Maryland is? Share your theories in the comments.

UPDATE: According to a comment left below by the witness, the first time he saw the object it was so bright it caught is attention from the corner of his eye. As he turned the object shot off across the sky at an incredible pace, while the second time it appeared it seemed to float slowly into a cloud bank. With this additional information, it would seem to potentially rule out the theory raised by other commenters that the object was in fact a satellite reflecting the sun.

When Chris Holly posted a hand drawn sketch of this symbol asking if anyone had seen it before, I felt like it was very familiar, yet I am unable to remember where I have seen it. To use a filing cabinet as an analogy, I know which drawer the folder is in. The folder is clearly labeled, but when I look in the folder, there is nothing in it. When I contacted Chris to let her know that, she replied that several other people had told her, just as I had, that the symbol looked familiar, but that they couldn’t place it.

Through my research, I have been unable to find any symbols remotely like this one. So in the hopes that some one will either recognize the symbol or have some clue about its origin, I am joining Chris in asking the internet at large for help identifying this mysterious glyph. Strange lights seen over Norway

Earlier today the appearance of a blue spiral of light over Norway sent shockwaves across the Scandinavian country as thousands witnessed the phenomenon. According to witnesses, the event lasted a little over 2 minutes, but some residual coloration was still visible in the sky for some time. Experts have ruled out auras, meteors, and other known natural phenomena. Additionally, no rocket sites in Norway or any neighboring countries say they have fired any rockets. This leaves this event a complete mystery.

Because this occurred on the eve of President Obama’s arrival in Norway to accept the Nobel Peace Prize, many have postulated that the two events may be related. The internet has been abuzz lately with rumors of government disclosure of the existence of extraterrestrial life and many theories peg President Obama’s Nobel Prize speech as a possible venue for an announcement. In a way, announcing the existence of extraterrestrial life at the Nobel ceremonies seem logical. If he brokered some sort of diplomatic agreement between the earth and an extraterrestrial race, Pres. Obama would definitely deserve the peace prize, an accolade that right now very few feels he has earned. Additionally because the speech will occur outside of the United States, he would be seen as making the announcement to the entire planet and not just to the US. Ultimately, only time will tell if the two events have anything to do with each other. Even if there is no link between this phenomena and President Obama, something amazing happened over Norway today.

Mysterious lights spotted over South West Florida

For approximately one minute a series of bright flashes were visible across the South West Florida communities of Cape Coral, Sanibel, and Ft Myers. Witnesses reported electrical anomalies in their homes and some were even unable to start their car. Following the event, 5,000 homes on Sanibel Island were without power. Currently there is no official explanation for the flashes, though some speculate that the lights may have been caused by failing substations. However this theory would not explain the inability to start cars or the strange sensations felt by witnesses. Watch the flashes for yourself and let me know what you think they are in the comments:

Could the world share one consciousness?

for signs of a global consiousness.

This is exactly the question that scientists with Princeton’s Global Consciousness Project are trying to answer. Their research is an extension of a study done at the now defunct Princeton Engineering Anomalies Research (PEAR) lab that showed that through directed concentration, the human mind can have a small but noticeable effect on noise based random event generators (REGs). While the PEAR experiments focused on collecting data from a single generator, the Global Consciousness Project uses a network of 60-65 generators spread around the world to monitor for fluctuations in the random data that may indicate a global consciousness that reflects the emotions and attentions of every person on the planet.

Such fluctuations have already been seen during catastrophic events such as the September 11th attacks and worldwide celebrations like New Years Eve. Interestingly, the projects data shows that human generated events, such as a terror attack, generate stronger fluctuations than a natural disaster. This has led some researchers to speculate that the world as a whole accepts some disasters as a normal part of the natural order where others, like a bombing, disrupt that order causing a deeper psychological effect.

While the project is very much in it’s infancy and right now it is often very hard to separate fluctuations from the natural randomness in the data (something the project’s detractors are quick to point out), as the technology and research mature, we may be able to get a clearer picture of how the world feels and possibly how we are all connected to each other.
