I think UFO sightings are more effected by the seasons than anything. In the summer / early fall people are outside at night more so people tend to see what they might otherwise miss.
@Finn: That is an excellent point and something I am guilty of overlooking being a resident of a state where the weather is nice enough to be outside almost year round. Thanks for bringing it up.
:) I have to say I’m jealous, I’m up in Canada so it’s all about the seasons up here. We got snow yesterday and it’s almost April. Not a good start to spring.
